The Commodore  award is used by Rhode Island and is that state's equivalent of the Kentucky Colonel an award given to people important to the state of Kentucky. Your co-host ,John C. Dvorak, has a Kentucky Colonel certification. In researching the history of the awards, Commodore seems the most modern and used to refer to a one-star Navy Admiral which is a higher rank than any Colonel.
